If you are heading to any of these locations, please drop off your recycling where you are there. It would really help if you could take a bag or two of the collected materials in the RRR centre.
The Council's Reedy Creek and Currumbin Valley Waste and Recycling Centres also recycle a range of materials. More info.
Soft plastics, like bread bags and chip packets are recycled by Redcycle. If the plastic can be scrunched into a ball it can be recycled through this program.
Collection bins are located inside Coles and Woolworths supermarkets (usually just inside the door).
You can take soft plastics collected at the RRR with you - the bin is located in the mail room, on the right hand side. Please return the plastic bag they are collected in.
The polystryene packaging that comes with lots of household products can be recycled in the Cleanaway bin at Harvey Norman in Tweed Heads. The bin is located in the loading bay, out the back of the store. Drive down the road between Bunnings and Harvey Norman and you'll find it.
They are happy to take any amount of polystryene, but it must be loose (not bagged).
A, B, C, D and 9 V batteries can be taken to Aldi. Their recycling bins are usually after the checkouts.
Battery World in Burleigh also recycle batteries (all kinds), as well as mobile phones.
There's a battery collection point in the RRRR mailroom. The RRR committee tries to make bags of batteries available beside the bin (on the back wall - small green wheelie bin). Just grab a bag next time you are going to Aldi to near Battery World.
Any IT equipment (computers, monitors, modems, cables) can be taken to OfficeWorks in Burleigh.
They also accept mobile phones and printer toner cartridges.
We collect eWaste in one of the bins inside the RRR mailroom (left hand side). Take some with you next time you head to OfficeWorks. You can either use the recycling station just inside the front door, or load up a trolley straight from your car boot and wheel it inside. The check out staff will take it off your hands.
